Roy Lichtenstein

(1923 - 1997), American painter and sculptor. He became the leading Pop Art painter of the 1960s with his highly coloured reproductions of sections of advertisements and cartoon strips.

John Edward Masefield

(1878 - 1967), English poet and writer. He wrote the poems "Sea Fever", "The Everlasting Mercy" and "Dauber". In 1930 he was appointed poet laureate.
